This course is based on the MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) programme developed by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn. This is an 8 week programme of 2.5 hour classes, consisting of mindfulness meditation, gentle movement and cognitive exercises. There are opportunities during the classes to discuss and reflect on your experiences with myself and your fellow participants. You are encouraged to develop your own daily practice at home during the course. There is a retreat day at towards the end of the course that you are invited to join.
8 – Week Mindfulness Course (MBSR)
Monthly Mindfulness Sessions

These sessions are held every month and are designed to support you as you develop your meditation practice following the MBSR course. They provide an opportunity for you to meet up with your fellow course participants as well as meeting new friends who are interested in supporting their well-being through meditation.
You are welcome to join these sessions if you have not done the course as they provide an ideal way for you to find out more about the mindfulness. The session will be structured to include a 30 – 40 minute meditation, an inspirational thought and a short time to socialise with one another.
Please bring a mat and blanket with you. Everyone is welcome whatever your experience of meditation.
These days provide an opportunity to come together to sit and to meditate – to take a few hours off the treadmill of our daily lives. The day is designed for people currently on the MBSR course as well as people who have finished the course and would like a refresher day. The majority of the day will be held in silence with the opportunity to meet one another socially at the beginning and end of the day. A vegetarian lunch will be provided.
This will be a time of guided meditation practice that will be top and tailed with conversation but held largely in silence. Ideal for when you do not have the time or inclination to attend a full retreat day. A mid-morning snack will be provided.
